Laura Natta, Ph.D.: 

Dr. Laura Natta is the Consulting Director of Neuropsychological Assessment at Alta Mira Recovery Programs where she is responsible for the comprehensive assessment of clients and supervision of. She obtained a PhD in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Neuropsychology from Pacific Graduate School of Psychology at Palo Alto University. She has been working with patients that have primary mental health and co-occurring disorders for over 15 years in a variety of settings, including residential, inpatient, acute and specialty clinics. Dr. Natta received specialty training at the VA Healthcare System in many areas including assessment of trauma, behavioral sleep medicine, traumatic brain injury assessment, cognitive rehabilitation, and chronic pain assessment.

Her practice, Crosspoint Wellness is headquartered in Mill Valley and has recently opened an affiliate location with South Coast Psychiatry in Costa Mesa, California. Dr. Natta serves as Associate Assessment Faculty at multiple psychology programs in the Bay Area and serves on the Board of Directors of The Northern California Neuropsychological Forum.

"The Brain That Came to Rehab: Hot Topics in Neuropsychology and Co-occurring Disorders"

In order to provide the best treatment, it is helpful for providers to take note of the latest research. This presentation reviews “Hot Topics” in addiction and Co-occurring disorders, including criteria for diagnosis, at-risk populations and treatment resources. Topics covered include CBD/THC, Cannabis and Psychosis, vaping/ juuls, and process addictions. A case study will follow taking the participants through an entire case from background and assessment to diagnosis and treatment. 

At the conclusion, the participant will be able to:

a. Name 5 “Hot Topics” in addictive and psychiatric disorders and syndromes           
b. Be able to identify key diagnostic markers
c. Identify evidence-based treatments for listed disorders and syndromes
d. Identify at-risk-groups for listed disorders and syndromes
