A Leap of Faith: Mastering the Invisible Bridge to Growth and Wellness

Developmental transitions are often the most complicated periods for clinicians and loved ones. An exploration of the dynamics of change, resistances to growth, and the facets that identify individuals with greater resilience versus fragility will be explored and discussed.  Participants will develop the ability to understand developmental, mental health, and trauma history as they relate to obstacles to developmental change and to a greater integration of interventions provided in treatment settings. At the conclusion of the discussion, participants will also develop a greater understanding of the importance of remaining curious about the process of change and in learning new ways to illuminate the bridge towards a path of wellness and growth.

At the conclusion, the participant will be able to:

a. Define and identify the concept of developmental shifts
b. Discuss aspects of pathology that interfere with growth
c. Explain the ways in which pathology and systems retard growth
d. Recite interventions to increase energy toward forward movement
